About the position

The Tactical Aerospace Department is seeking a Lead Analyst/Lead Engineer/Principal Engineer specializing in Systems Engineering. This role is pivotal in developing system-level and Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) architectures, utilizing advanced Data Science and Analytics techniques to design robust data pipelines. The position may also involve the implementation of second and third-generation AI/ML data pipelines, contributing to the cutting-edge technology used in Department of Defense (DoD) platforms. As a key member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and AI/ML specialists to define and refine requirements for complex flight-worthy avionics hardware. Your responsibilities will include direct interaction with clients to establish system requirements and architectures that align with their expectations. You will provide technical project leadership throughout each program, ensuring that all engineering efforts are coordinated and effective. Utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, you will support the design and architecture of systems, contributing to the overall success of embedded avionics programs. Additionally, you will assist department management in marketing activities, proposal development, and the creation of product and technical roadmaps, ensuring that the department remains at the forefront of aerospace technology.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system-level and LRU architectures using Data Science/Analytics techniques.
  • Design data pipelines, including second/third generation AI/ML data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to define hardware, firmware, and AI/ML requirements.
  • Interact with clients to establish system requirements and architectures.
  • Provide technical project leadership throughout each program.
  • Utilize Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes to support system designs and architectures.
  • Support marketing activities and proposal development for embedded avionics programs.
  • Assist in the development of product and technical roadmaps.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to develop, integrate, and test complex avionics systems.
  • Meet with internal and external customers to establish technical requirements and facilitate specification document development.
  • Conduct trade analyses within and across relevant domains.
  • Work with stakeholders to allocate functions to components/systems and develop requirements for engineers and designers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in developing, deriving, and allocating tiered Systems Engineering requirements in Avionics applications.
  • Broad understanding of engineering activities in avionics development, including Systems, Hardware Development, Firmware, Integration, Testing, and Certification.
  • Experience developing Architectures and intermediate experience with MBSE processes.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
