At FIS, we are seeking a Lead Analyst - Product Owner to join our dynamic product team in New York. As a product owner, you will play a crucial role in transforming the way the world pays and banks, working on innovative financial technology solutions that are vital for the world's largest and fastest-growing merchants and SMEs. In this role, you will be responsible for defining, maintaining, and prioritizing the product backlog, which includes epics, features, and user stories. You will solve product-related problems, make informed decisions, and conduct trade-off analyses to ensure that we meet our business deliverable commitments. Your ability to draft product key objectives and results, along with strategies, will be essential in applying data to make informed business decisions. You will collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development phases of product creation, ensuring that the team focuses on delivering maximum value aligned with our product strategy. As a product champion, you will draft and define detailed specifications for product features, ensuring clarity for the development and QA teams. You will also review and provide feedback on test plans to ensure that application changes meet acceptance criteria. Your role will involve creating Sprint Release Plans in collaboration with scrum masters, project managers, and development teams, while monitoring development progress and providing updates to stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead planning and review meetings to communicate feedback on development achievements and train internal employees or external clients on changes, new systems, or procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain & prioritize backlog (epic/features/user stories) to guide the agile software development team.
  • Solve product related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
  • Draft product key objectives and results, strategies and apply the data for the product to make business decisions.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the visioning and concept development of a product.
  • Ensure team focuses on those with a maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Ability draft & define appropriately detailed specifications for the product features, so they are clearly understood by the development & QA teams.
  • Understands product strategy, market, industry, and client goals.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on test plans to ensure application changes meet acceptance criteria.
  • Creates Sprint Release Plans with scrum master, project managers & development teams.
  • Monitors the development progress and provides updates to stakeholders, as requested.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years' experience in software product management or equivalent role.
  • Prior experience 3+ years in the payments industry, with demonstrable understanding of major trends in Online / Instore payment solutions.
  • Understanding of agile methodology, e.g. SAFe, with competence utilizing project management software tools (e.g. Rally) to write concise user stories to communicate with the Engineering and QA teams and to ensure feasibility.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively, under the supervision of Product Managers.
  • Familiarity with managing a post-production launch to support the sales cycle, gauge performance.
  • A strong team player, comfortable collaborating with and coordinating the efforts of cross-functional colleagues.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong will to win, ability to take ownership and desire to drive for optimal business results.
  • Ability to adapt to and embrace frequent change with a positive attitude.
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude who can operate with minimal direct/daily supervision.
  • Understanding of Microservices, tools like Splunk etc will be a bonus.
