About the position

The Lead Analyst - Revenue Requirements at Avangrid is responsible for developing analyses and business processes that provide senior management with accurate assessments of revenue requirements necessary to maintain or improve corporate earnings for New York State Electric and Gas, and Rochester Gas & Electric. This role involves formulating and assessing regulatory strategies to enhance regulatory earnings while adhering to state policies and accounting principles, making it critical to the financial health of the corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various regulatory filings for Avangrid Networks utilities in NY, including Rate of Return, Rate Base, Financial Ratios Report, and Earnings Sharing.
  • Provide support for rate case filings, including determination of revenue requirements and rate base, and assist with pre-filed testimony and data responses to discovery requests.
  • Perform financial analysis to determine reasons for variances compared to PURA allowed amounts in rates.
  • Maintain a historical data set of financial information for Avangrid Networks utilities in NY, including ROE, rate base, and equity ratio.
  • Support regulatory research projects across all Avangrid Networks utilities.
  • Assist with special projects requiring departmental expertise.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Math, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent major required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment and operating company business processes preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Strong background with SAP preferred.
