About the position

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team in New York City, NY. This contract role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in Android and mobile development, focusing on consumer-facing applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kotlin and app development on Android, utilizing Gradle and the MVVM design pattern.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mobile applications for Android platforms.
• Implement new features and improve existing functionalities in consumer-facing applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks in the application.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in Android and mobile development.
• 3 - 5 years of deep expertise in mobile software consumer-facing applications.
• Expert hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Expert knowledge of app development on Android and Gradle.
• Experience with MVVM design pattern.
• Experience with REST, JSON, URL loading, and web services.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with testing frameworks like Espresso or similar technologies.
• Experience with Dependency Injection (Dagger).
