About the position

The Lead Android Developer will be responsible for overseeing the development of Android applications, with a specific focus on Android TV. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in Android development, particularly with Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM). The position is based in Dallas, requiring three days of onsite work each week, and involves both high-level and low-level design responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of Android applications with a focus on Android TV.
• Design high-level and low-level architecture for applications.
• Collaborate with UX designers to ensure a good user experience.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on Android development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in Android TV SDK development.
• At least 8 years of hands-on experience with Kotlin.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
• Strong UX design experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Java.
• Knowledge of Reactive Programming.
• Familiarity with Android Jetpack components.
• Experience with Xamarin Forms and Visual Studio.
• Proficiency in using Git and related tools (SourceTree, GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub, SVN).
• Experience with iOS development (Swift, XCode).
• Knowledge of Room and MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with Detekt for code quality checks.
• Experience with web services integration.
• Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA and Trello.
