About the position

Cognizant is seeking a highly qualified Lead Android Developer to join its Digital Engineering practice. This role involves developing and building high-performing, scalable enterprise applications as part of a digital software team. The Lead Android Developer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and clients to deliver valuable software quickly, focusing on high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. The position emphasizes agile methodologies and continuous improvement, with success measured by team performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release, and support.
• Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code.
• Identify the correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Learn & adopt and brainstorm new features.
• Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Android Native App Development.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Rx Java 2, and Rx Android JS.
• Experience with Dagger Framework and MVC/MVVM best practices.
• Hands-on experience with overall Android technologies and frameworks.
• Expertise in RESTful API design and client/server communication.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing data visualization UI components such as Charts and Graphs.
• Knowledge of offline data handling/management.
• Familiarity with proxy tools to debug HTTP and SSL/HTTPS traffic.
