About the position

The Lead API Developer will oversee the development of a standardized digital platform across multiple brands and applications. This role focuses on supervising both onshore and offshore development teams, engaging in high-level strategic design, and conducting code reviews, while also participating in hands-on development work. The position is primarily centered on backend API development using technologies such as Nest, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with a current infrastructure utilizing Azure cloud storage.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of a standardized digital platform across 7 brands and 21 applications.
• Supervise an API development pod consisting of 4-6 developers and 2-4 QAs.
• Engage in high-level strategic design and code reviews.
• Participate in hands-on backend API development.
• Coordinate with third-party development teams organized into pods.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role with an emphasis on backend API development.
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, Nest.js, Next.js, and React.js.
• Strong understanding and coding ability with JavaScript on the backend.
• Strong working knowledge of CI/CD practices and ability to understand CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience running code reviews.
