About the position

The Lead APP will oversee care delivery within the Virtual Urgent Care team at Oscar Medical Group, managing a panel of patients primarily through telemedicine while coordinating in-person care as needed. This role involves supervising a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care. The position is remote, requiring residency in specific states, and reports to the Medical Director of Virtual Urgent Care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care via telemedicine (video, phone, messaging) while working with a multidisciplinary team
• Provide supervision to a group of APPs (NPs and PAs) who are delivering care in a virtual environment and provide professional & clinical growth
• Act as a clinical escalation point for the care delivery team as needed (APPs, RNs, MAs)
• Support development of clinical guidelines, continuous improvement of care model, and participate in collaborative projects with Operations and Product team members as a clinical leader
• Be accountable for the quality of care of your patients
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must have GA, TX, & FL licenses in good standing
• Additional state licenses or willing to be licensed in additional Oscar states, also in good standing
• DNP, FNP, ENP, or PA from accredited program
• Board Certification (NCCPA or AANP or ANCC)
• 5+ years of primary/urgent care experience
• 1+ year Experience delivering care in a community-based / in person setting
• 1+ years experience in supervising teams, including other clinical staff NP and PA supervision
• Prior telehealth experience

Nice-to-haves

• Spanish language fluency
• Experience being metric driven in a practice setting as it relates to population health management and/or, quality benchmarks, and productivity
