About the position

The Lead Application Security Analyst at CLA will play a crucial role in enhancing the firm's security posture by collaborating with the Manager of Application Security and the Cloud Security Architect. This hands-on position focuses on developing and implementing best practice security architecture, particularly for cloud-based services, while providing support and guidance across various IT teams. The analyst will be responsible for reviewing project documentation, ensuring compliance with security policies, and leading initiatives to secure systems and applications throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager of Application Security and Cloud Security Architect on strategic IT projects.
  • Review project documentation and provide recommendations from a security perspective.
  • Interface with IT peers and leadership to improve cybersecurity across CLA Service Lines.
  • Guide project managers in creating secure design principles and documentation.
  • Forecast and roadmap technologies to establish and enforce security standards.
  • Validate controls for encryption, access control, and web application vulnerability detection.
  • Create documentation around security initiatives and provide peer reviews of technology initiatives.
  • Facilitate web application penetration tests with outside vendors and manage small-scale projects.

Requirements

  • 7 years of general IT experience required, with 4 years in IT security and 2 years in security design/strategy.
  • 3 years of modern application development experience, including CI/CD practices and Git fundamentals.
  • 4 years of experience preferred in secure coding tools, including SAST/SCA/DAST.
  • Bachelor's degree required, or a combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
