About the position

As a Lead Application Developer at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will lead a team of developers in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications that are crucial to the organization's success. This role involves mentoring other developers, promoting technology standards, and managing complex projects to deliver high-quality products. You will work in an Agile environment, focusing on building scalable digital products and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers in application design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Mentor and teach other developers, promoting technology standards and best practices.
  • Manage complex projects to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including project teams, business analysts, and product owners.
  • Oversee the delivery of highly scalable digital products in an Agile environment.
  • Implement and manage distributed systems based on microservices architecture.
  • Utilize object-oriented programming languages such as Blazor, C#, and .NET.
  • Design and implement REST APIs and manage API systems like Apigee and Informatica.
  • Leverage Azure and/or AWS public cloud technologies and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvement plans.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of delivering scalable digital products.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a development team.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and complex software product delivery.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming using languages such as Blazor, C#, .NET, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with API management systems and REST API design.
  • Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS cloud technology stacks.
  • Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and automation tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance or Finance industry.
