About the position

The Lead Application Developer at ADP is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing web applications that support both internal and external clients. This role involves working within a scrum team to bring innovative ideas to life, utilizing a mix of front-end and back-end technologies. The developer will lead projects, mentor junior developers, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work within a scrum team to design and develop web applications.
• Participate in daily scrum calls to prioritize and track work.
• Choose user stories to work on during sprint cycles.
• Develop and test code, focusing on both front-end and back-end technologies.
• Lead and guide projects to success, mentoring junior developers.
• Review team members' work and provide feedback to ensure quality.
• Present work to stakeholders during sprint demos.
• Collaborate with clients, product managers, and architects to implement solutions.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in application development or a similar role.
• Expertise in Java (Java 8 preferred), Spring Boot, Javascript, Angular and/or React.
• Familiarity with web services, RESTful APIs, and open source tools such as Apache KAFKA.
• Experience in both front-end and back-end development.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Agile methodologies and scrum practices.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to senior leaders and stakeholders.
