About the position

As a Lead Application Developer at Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), you will lead a team of developers in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications that are crucial to the organization's success. This role involves mentoring other developers, promoting technology standards, and managing complex projects to deliver high-quality products that enhance client experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of developers in application design, development, coding, testing, and debugging.
  • Mentor and teach other developers on technology standards and software development life cycle processes.
  • Manage complex projects to ensure high-quality product delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders including project teams, business analysts, and product owners.
  • Monitor system performance trends and recommend improvement plans.
  • Run an Agile Development Pod using the Scrum framework to manage user stories, backlog, and sprints.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software development with a proven track record of delivering scalable digital products.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a development team.
  • Hands-on experience with complex software product delivery in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in building distributed systems based on microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming using languages such as Blazor, C#, .NET, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with API Management systems like Apigee and Informatica, and REST API design and implementation.
  • Experience with Azure and/or AWS public cloud technology stack.
  • Knowledge of container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and robust build and test automation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the Insurance or Finance Industry.
