About the position

As a Lead Application Developer at Kyndryl, you will be part of the Application Management Services (AMS) team, focusing on the maintenance and development of healthcare systems. Your role involves creating programming specifications, building components, and ensuring they are well-documented and tested. You will also provide support for defect resolution and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for production support.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test and deploy code on .NET environment.
  • Work in a hybrid web and mainframe platform (z/OS) application support role.
  • Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications and programming solutions.
  • Provide technical assistance in solving hardware or software problems.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, including specifications, design, and user guides.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices in mainframe development.
  • Ensure proper change management for all requested changes, fixes and enhancements to production applications.
  • Participate in 24 X 7 on-call support rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work/practical experience).
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a .NET, Java, or equivalent environment.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, including C#, Python, Java, JSON, SQL, JavaScript, NodeJS, Git, Jira.
  • Knowledge of mainframe technologies, including CICS, VSAM, JCL, TSO, ISPF.
  • Production Support experience including break-fix support and permanent fixes in production.
  • Familiarity with Azure platform and tools.
  • Development lifecycle experience, from Developing to System Test to UAT to Production.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Accountability in actions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding user needs and considering their experiences when developing software.
  • Staying positive and productive in the face of challenges or setbacks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Programming experience in Healthcare applications.
  • Experience with Verastream Application Integrator.
  • EDI ANSI X12 Insurance/Health Care Claim (837).
  • Transfer protocol (e.g. NDM/FTP/SFTP).
  • Experience with mainframe integration and/or APIs.
