About the position

The Lead Application Engineer for Semiconductor at Henkel is responsible for providing technical support for semiconductor materials and developing in-depth application knowledge for Henkel Adhesive Electronics markets. This role involves optimizing material application processes, troubleshooting product and process-related issues, and ensuring that products deliver clear value to customers. The engineer will also drive the development of a comprehensive customer experience and collaborate with external teams to meet business and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Henkel's semiconductor materials.
  • Develop in-depth application knowledge for Henkel Adhesive Electronics markets.
  • Lead technical efforts on developmental and commercialized products by optimizing material application processes.
  • Interact directly with customers to troubleshoot and solve product and process-related problems.
  • Ensure successful employment of new and existing products by customers, delivering identifiable value.
  • Solve technology-specific fundamental problems associated with product lines through novel application process development.
  • Drive the development of an end-to-end customer experience from identifying new value propositions to enhancing customer service.
  • Leverage customer feedback to align global/regional SBU projects in creating joint value.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors and external teams to confirm business and technical requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Material Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a chemical for electronic application or semiconductor packaging environment.
  • Lab hands-on experience and knowledge to develop new testing methods in collaboration with product development.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for one-on-one and group interactions.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team member and independently on multi-task assignments.
  • Knowledge in Sintering technology or Advanced Packaging is a plus.
  • Ability to self-direct and formulate strong conclusions from project work.
  • Further knowledge of statistical analysis and design of experiment (DOE) is needed.
