About the position

The Lead Application Engineer is responsible for overseeing the Application Engineering team, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery. This role involves creating control databases, graphic screens, and setting up control systems based on project specifications. The engineer will perform field startup and system commissioning tasks, provide technical support, and deliver operator training to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Application Engineering team to ensure on-time and budget delivery.
  • Develop and maintain standards for applications databases and processes.
  • Create programming logic using flow diagrams, sequences of operation, and project specifications.
  • Program control applications using various software tools for operator workstations and DDC field panels.
  • Perform job site system checkout, commissioning, and testing of control applications.
  • Develop system graphic displays according to project specifications.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers.
  • Act as the technical liaison between owners and construction managers.
  • Deliver on-site customer operator training on the installed system.
  • Perform system analysis and diagnostics to restore systems to proper operating condition.
  • Coordinate system installation with contractors at job sites.
  • Conduct final walkthroughs with owners and construction managers to ensure project completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in HVAC, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of six years related industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in programming tools and communication networks, including Niagara.
  • Proficient in reading BAS drawings to ensure compatibility with programming.
