About the position

The Lead Applications Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, and implementation of advanced applications for a leading global manufacturer specializing in highly engineered, mission-critical flow control products. This position is essential for serving the industrial, aerospace, and defense markets, where innovative solutions are critical for demanding applications. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in various areas, including Flow Control, Pump Systems, Auto Cad, Machine Design, Pressure products, and Process Engineering. In this role, the Lead Applications Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications. A significant aspect of the job involves working closely with customers to understand their needs and translating those into application requirements. The engineer will ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications while identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fixing bugs. Additionally, maintaining code quality, organization, and automation will be key responsibilities. The position also requires the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including project plans, specifications, and test plans. The Lead Applications Engineer will provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a passion for problem-solving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of advanced applications.
  • Provide technical expertise in Flow Control, Pump Systems, Auto Cad, Machine Design, Pressure products, and Process Engineering.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new applications.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and translate them into application requirements.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including project plans, specifications, and test plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an Applications Engineer, Lead Mechanical Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Strong experience with Flow Control, Pump Systems, Auto Cad, Machine Design, Pressure products, and Process Engineering.
  • Proficiency in 3D Printing and Valves.
  • Experience with Customer Interfacing and ability to translate technical language to lay audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of hands-on, detail orientation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • High level of self-motivation, drive, and willingness to learn new skills.
