About the position

The Lead Architect at Purdue University is responsible for overseeing architectural projects that involve restoration, functional program implementation, and facility planning within a university setting. The position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and project management skills to meet the diverse needs of the campus community.

Responsibilities

• Oversee architectural projects including restoration and new construction efforts.
• Implement emerging functional programs within existing and new spaces.
• Contribute to facility planning and architectural detailing.
• Coordinate project management initiatives to support strategic goals.
• Meet with university end users to identify space and furnishing needs.
• Develop and implement action plans for priority initiatives.
• Synthesize complex data and make strategic recommendations.
• Assist senior architects in design and technical processes for projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, planning, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of experience with architectural building systems.
• Experience applying ADA requirements in various space types.
• Knowledge of planning principles and architectural design.
• Project management experience in a complex organization.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and preferably InDesign.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Registered Architect in the State of Indiana.
• Experience in a higher education context.
• LEED Accredited Professional credential.
