In the role of Lead Architect-Microservices, you will be responsible for defining Navitaire's microservices reference and transition architectures, which are crucial for enabling enterprise-scale application modernization. This position requires close collaboration with product engineering teams and technology platform teams to establish effective governance structures. You will also work alongside business domain architects to develop modernization roadmaps that align with our strategic goals. Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including Engineering, Technology, Security, Operations, Delivery, and Business teams, are essential to drive value-driven decisions and outcomes. As a Lead Architect, you will provide leadership to Navitaire's Engineering community by spearheading key modernization initiatives. You will develop detailed microservice reference architectures that define integration patterns and communication protocols. Additionally, you will engage in hands-on prototyping of solutions to demonstrate value and vision, while ensuring that operational and security standards are met in collaboration with relevant teams. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our technology landscape and ensuring that we remain at the forefront of the travel industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to Navitaire's Engineering community by owning key modernization initiatives.
• Develop detailed microservice reference architectures that include definitions of integration patterns and communication protocols.
• Work closely with business domain architects and engineering teams to build application modernization roadmaps in adherence with enterprise standards.
• Engage in hands-on prototyping of solutions to drive value and demonstrate vision.
• Provide governance for enterprise architecture while contributing to standards.
• Ensure operational and security standards are architecturally addressed in collaboration with security and technology teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering software applications.
• 5+ years of architecture experience in a complex enterprise ecosystem.
• Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with various programming languages and frameworks, with a preference for .NET Core and C#.
• Hands-on experience with modern architectural patterns and practices, including Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and event-based architectures.
• Proven experience in delivering solutions based on industry standards using Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS capabilities.
• Experience with API-centric design and development, with a deep understanding of RESTful API practices.
• Effective communication skills to facilitate collaboration across multiple groups and build consensus.
• Deep understanding of SDLC, CI/CD processes for scale, including blue/green, red/black, canary, CI/CD, and resiliency engineering.
• A proven record of leading microservice modernization efforts.
