About the position

The Lead Auditor position at the State of Minnesota involves leading and performing complex audits to ensure the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the Department of Revenue. Responsibilities

• Independently lead, perform, and report on complex financial, operational, and compliance audits.
• Assign and monitor audit work, providing feedback and guidance to team members.
• Develop or update internal audit policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with leadership and staff across various departments and agencies.

Requirements

• Three or more years of professional experience in internal auditing.
• Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience in planning, performing, and reporting on audits.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with the International Professional Practices Framework and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, or CRMA.
• Understanding of federal regulations and state statutes related to auditing.
