About the position

The Lead Cloud Applications Engineer/Developer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of ESD's cloud-based Solutions and Infrastructure platform. This role requires providing leadership, strategic guidance, and operational oversight to the cloud development team and strategic partners. The position involves monitoring, enhancing, architecting, and implementing ESD's cloud-based solutions and infrastructure initiatives. The successful candidate will design, build, deploy, and manage highly secure, scalable, and available cloud-based applications and supporting infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the Cloud Application Development team to design, build, deploy, optimize, and debug cloud-based applications, including MS Dynamics and SQL-based databases. You will supervise, mentor, and train Junior Application Developers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. Evaluating and recommending new and emerging cloud applications technologies will also be a key responsibility. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to align cloud strategy with business goals, and you will work closely with Security Engineers to integrate cloud-based security solutions into ESD's existing cloud applications. Additionally, you will define indicators of performance and quality metrics, ensuring compliance with cloud-related application policies, standards, roles, responsibilities, and adoption requirements. Authoring functional specifications for new and enhanced cloud solutions and infrastructure requirements will be part of your duties. You will review new cloud initiatives to ensure compliance with defined IT operational and business requirements and liaise with third-party vendors in support of ESD's cloud infrastructure and solutions implementation. Assisting with IT Disaster Recovery efforts, testing, and documentation will also be part of your responsibilities, along with performing other related duties and projects as directed by IT Management.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA in an IT related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience in related field; or a 2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing.
  • Experience with Azure Cloud Infrastructure components including networking, security, applications, and data.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with MS Dynamics.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
