The Lead Azure Data Engineer will be responsible for overseeing data engineering projects with a focus on Microsoft technologies, particularly within Azure. The position is contract-based and located in Atlanta, GA, emphasizing a hands-on approach to data transformation and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Lead data engineering projects focusing on Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Design and implement data models using Kimball or DataVault architectures.
- Transform and ensure data quality across various data services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Utilize Azure data services such as Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
Requirements
- 12 years of experience in data engineering with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
- Proficiency in Azure data services including Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Factory.
- Demonstrable experience in data modeling with Kimball or DataVault architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and database design principles.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
- Prior experience working on data strategy in the Wealth Management industry.
