About the position

The Lead Bank Teller at Community First Bank of Indiana is responsible for developing and maintaining professional relationships with customers while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves account management, transaction processing, and creating a welcoming environment for customers. The Lead Teller also recognizes and nurtures sales talent within the team and fulfills daily branch operations in the absence of management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction on a daily basis.
  • Open and maintain customer accounts in accordance with bank policies.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, and cash checks accurately and efficiently.
  • Balance daily transactions according to bank guidelines.
  • Recognize sales opportunities and identify customer needs for referrals.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for transactions and account openings.
  • Assist with operational and auditing functions and reporting.
  • Utilize CRM to manage customer interactions and stay updated on bank changes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information.

Requirements

  • 3 years of banking experience with sound decision-making capability.
  • Minimum of 2 years of new account opening experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and perform calculations accurately.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and bank operating systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail banking and knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Sales and cross-selling abilities.
  • Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act requirements and OFAC regulations.
