About the position

The Lead Barista at The Post Oak Hotel is responsible for leading the barista team to create exceptional guest experiences through the preparation and serving of espresso-based coffee drinks and other beverages. This role involves managing team members, ensuring smooth service, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction in a luxury hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Barista team members by managing workload and delegating tasks to ensure smooth service
• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner
• Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol
• Know the menu and be able to explain menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to guests
• Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure all orders are prepared and delivered on time and together
• Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring accuracy and good presentation
• Check on guests during their stay to ensure satisfaction and address requests/concerns
• Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and bring issues to management
• Comply with all federal and state laws, including the FLSA tip regulations regarding tip reporting

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2-3 years of restaurant experience
• Ability to carry food and beverage trays safely and professionally
• Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
