About the position

The Lead BAS/BMS Application Engineer will be responsible for operating control software, developing databases, and identifying mechanical equipment on plans and in the field. This role involves commissioning projects, understanding control circuits and networking principles, and coordinating with electricians to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations in HVAC mechanical services.

Responsibilities

• Operate control software for Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Develop and maintain databases related to BAS/BMS applications.
• Identify mechanical equipment on plans and in the field.
• Commission projects to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
• Understand control circuits and networking principles relevant to HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with electricians to facilitate project execution.
• Recognize equipment deficiencies and assess contractual scopes of work.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in the Building Automation (BAS/BMS) or commercial HVAC Controls space.
• Experience with one or more BAS platforms such as JCI, Delta, Andover, Schneider Electric, Trane, Automated Logic, or Distech.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems.

Nice-to-haves

• BS in a related field.
• Experience in BAS/BMS programming.
• Familiarity with BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus protocols.
• Experience with Tridium Niagara.
