About the position

The Lead Behavioral Health Technician at Silver Ridge is responsible for providing support and care to clients in a substance abuse setting. This role involves assisting with the intake process, maintaining client logs, managing medication, and ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The technician will also coordinate activities, transport clients, and train new staff, all while demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with intake process with new clients into program.
  • Communicate with staff either verbally or in written communication logs.
  • Responsible for detailed client logs.
  • Medication Management.
  • Listen to clients concerning all areas of treatment.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for clients including crisis intervention.
  • Coordinate activities including lectures, recreation and meetings.
  • Follow objectives of treatment plans.
  • Helps clients obtain a sponsor.
  • Attend shift change and company meetings.
  • Attend training as necessary.
  • Transport clients.
  • Monitor treatment for necessary hygiene and medical needs.
  • Help with upkeep of facility.
  • Train new staff on unit, program and milieu.
  • Evaluate behavioral and emotional needs of clients and provides input.
  • Assist with interventions with clients.
  • Responsible for conducting searches of clients when they return back to the facility.
  • Prepare client snacks.
  • Clerical duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working as a BHT in a substance abuse setting.
  • Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health experience preferred.
