About the position

The Lead Budget Analyst position is a temporary role within the Department of the Treasury, specifically focused on overseeing and managing the federal budget process. This role involves ensuring that the organization's strategic plans are effectively communicated and integrated into team strategies, as well as providing guidance and training to team members on budgetary matters. The position requires a strong understanding of financial data analysis and the ability to interpret budget instructions and regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products.
  • Assist in the planning of work to be accomplished and communicate assignments, projects, and deadlines to the team.
  • Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.
  • Train or recommend training for team members in team building and working collaboratively to accomplish tasks.
  • Monitor, report, and check on work in progress, reviewing completed work for quality, timeliness, and technical accuracy.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
  • Expert experience with the federal budget process and the ability to interpret and apply budget instructions and regulatory guidelines.
  • Experience analyzing and relating financial data to strategic plans and organizational accomplishments.
  • Independently manage time and balance priorities, reviewing program and funding changes.
  • Experience researching budgetary and financial issues, evaluating resource allocations, and developing written analyses of findings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computer applications for word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and communication programs.

  • Competitive salary range of $122,198 - $181,216 per year.
