About the position

The Lead Business Analyst for the Department of Defense plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's strategic plan is effectively communicated and implemented. This position is responsible for budget formulation, execution, allocation, and monitoring of resources to support the strategic and business goals of the activity. The analyst serves as a financial advisor, facilitating improvements to enhance the overall business and financial performance of the supply chain, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Team Leader, ensuring the organization's strategic plan is communicated down.
  • Responsible for budget formulation, execution, allocation, and monitoring the use of resources.
  • Provide guidance regarding specific financial implications of program proposals.
  • Serve as financial advisor and facilitator in recommending improvements to enhance business/financial performance.
  • Formulate, monitor, and revise operational budget for organizations.
  • Determine pricing methodology and execute price changes for the activity's products.
  • Receive, validate, and accept funding documents; create and maintain associated reimbursable internal orders.
  • Facilitate the end-to-end business cycle design in alignment with DLA's strategic direction and transformation programs.
  • Ensure processes are compliant with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in budget facilitation and financial analysis.
  • Experience in identifying valuation discrepancies and coordinating with financial analysts.
  • Knowledge of pricing rules and compliance with established pricing methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and communicate financial performance results and recommendations.

Nice-to-haves

  • DoD Financial Management Level 2 certification within 2 years of appointment.
