About the position

The Lead Business Analyst at Medidata plays a crucial role in supporting the Clinical Data Studio, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance technology capabilities for clinical research. This position involves managing business requirements, ensuring data quality, and influencing management to adopt process improvements, all while working in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with users to document business processes and requirements in a business requirements document (BRD).
  • Create user stories and test scripts to support the development and integration of business systems.
  • Engage with IT partners to ensure business needs are translated into high-quality processes and systems changes.
  • Manage activities of other analysts and project resources by delegating assignments and reporting status.
  • Define and execute test plans to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Work with Internal Audit teams to validate and test controls in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Influence management to adopt enhancements in business processes or technology.
  • Understand complex systems architecture and ensure efficient integration of systems.
  • Keep up with best practices and incorporate them into the technological roadmap.
  • Forecast and plan work using Agile methodology, monitoring deliverables for timely completion.
  • Train end-users and maintain up-to-date documentation on system procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a life science, quantitative, or business discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of business analysis related experience.
  • Experience as a consultant, business analyst, or product manager working on cloud-based technologies.
  • Familiarity with developing business cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with database structures and web-based applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Life Science experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Trials and Rave is a plus.
  • Experience with data migration and transformation.
  • Experience defining API requirements and testing API results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
