Lead Business Intelligence Analyst - Contractor

About the position

Wavicle Data Solutions, LLC seeks a Lead Business Intelligence Analyst. In this role, you will identify data requirements and sources within legacy systems for Analytics and AI initiatives. You will design and develop reusable data models in MicroStrategy, leveraging data from systems including MicroStrategy, Dataiku, Tableau, Business Objects, Snowflake, and Netezza. Additionally, you will manage and support data ingestion, ETL processes, and analytics workflows to ensure data quality and accuracy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, data domains, and key performance indicators (KPIs) will be essential to guide analytics and AI efforts. You will prepare data models and dashboards for analytics in both current and future states, which may include a mix of MicroStrategy, Snowflake, and PowerBI. Providing expertise in BI tools, data modeling, and ETL processes will ensure effective data utilization across the organization. You will also troubleshoot and optimize BI processes to improve system performance and enhance data accessibility for decision-making. Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and best practices is also part of the role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in BI, Analytics, and Data Engineering, with a strong focus on MicroStrategy, ETL, and data modeling.
• Expertise in legacy systems including MicroStrategy, Dataiku, Tableau, Business Objects, Snowflake, and Netezza.
• Hands-on experience in developing ETL processes for large-scale data integration and transformation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with PowerBI and its integration with other BI tools and data sources.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
