About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Consultant for the Wells Fargo Auto Strategic Reporting Solutions team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Kanban teams in the Agile and Scrum practices. You will be expected to have knowledge of SQL and BI Tools to support the Kanban team on technical roadblocks. Your involvement will be crucial in change delivery activities related to modernizing Wells Fargo Auto's servicing and originations systems and enhancing the associated data environment. As a Lead Business Intelligence Consultant, you will guide the Kanban teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices, actively promoting prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint. You will facilitate the delivery process with cross-functional impact, keeping track of dependencies and aligning them with the scrum team development schedule. Collaboration with product owners and managers will be essential to communicate the delivery of work products from the team and escalate key risks and issues that may impede scrum team effectiveness. Regular communication of work expectations and escalation of key risks will be part of your responsibilities. You will also be expected to collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. Advanced programming skills in SQL will be necessary to write, modify, and test data extraction used in reports. Knowledge and understanding of business intelligence tools such as SRSS, Power BI, and Tableau will be required to support technical questions from the Kanban team. Additionally, you will perform data discovery and investigation to ensure that the data meets business objectives and collaborate with the technology team to implement and automate reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Kanban teams in Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Guide the Kanban teams to follow Agile methodologies and actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint.
  • Facilitate the delivery process with cross-functional impact, tracking dependencies and aligning them with the scrum team development schedule.
  • Collaborate with product owners and managers to communicate delivery of work products and escalate key risks and issues.
  • Regularly communicate expectations of work from the team and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Utilize advanced programming skills in SQL to write, modify, and test data extraction used in reports.
  • Support technical questions from the Kanban team.
  • Perform data discovery and investigation to ensure data meets business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to implement and automate reporting.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business intelligence and data visualization experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 5+ years of SQL experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban.
  • Prior successful work leading scrum teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong communication skills, to be succinct and articulate.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Technical proficiency, knowledge of SQL and BI tools.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with Wells Fargo Auto data and business systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual environment with team members in various time zones.
