About the position

The Lead, Business Operations position within the Advanced Technology Cores (ATC) division is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of core finances, including financial analysis, reporting, and grant administration. This role involves liaising with administrative units, overseeing financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with budgetary guidelines. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the research needs of users by managing financial operations and improving business productivity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of core finances alongside the ATC Director by monitoring expenses and chargeback projections.
• Review incoming and outstanding revenue-generating invoices to ensure payment is received and posted correctly.
• Manage purchase card and corporate card transaction expenses, reconciling for monthly reporting.
• Train new core personnel on iLab, including billing, reporting, and pricing updates.
• Complete ATC finance functions, including processing shopping cart approvals and budget revisions.
• Oversee and manage ATC employees' cost and effort distribution in PEPT, providing monthly analysis.
• Participate in the development and submission of the fiscal year budget, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Manage financials for pre- and post-award tasks related to various grants and awards.
• Support the review and development of process improvements to maximize productivity.
• Update ATC policies, procedures, and training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Six years of relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced accounting and/or finance skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in a related field and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Higher education experience in a research-intensive organization.
