About the position

The C & I Engineer IV position is a contract role focused on supporting a multi-functional team in the deployment of multi-technology wireless networks. The engineer will be responsible for commissioning RAN equipment, providing guidance during network cutovers, and assisting with training junior engineers. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, on-call environment while maintaining operational performance and service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Commission RAN equipment and assist with remote commissioning of CDMA/LTE RAN equipment.
  • Provide guidance to customers on integration, commissioning, and onsite support during network cutover for new markets.
  • Support Field and RF Engineers with parameter changes and clearing alarms.
  • Assist in training junior/entry-level commissioning engineers on daily tasks and responsibilities.
  • Conduct engineering, analytical, and functional analysis for the commissioning team.
  • Lead issues to resolution while maintaining professionalism in communications with internal and external contacts.
  • Apply strong troubleshooting skills and mentor junior engineers.
  • Provide feedback on process improvements and operational inefficiencies.
  • Complete tasks to maintain service levels and availability of site features and functions.
  • Respond to standard requests from internal and external customers and make decisions within guidelines and policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering (EE, CE, ME, CS, or equivalent technical degree) with 4-6 years of industry experience.
  • Prior experience in commissioning engineering activities required.
  • Knowledgeable of Wireless Network and Mobile Interworking (Core, BSC, RAN or IP) network elements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to take ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated English competency in both oral and written communication modes.
  • Ability to work under little supervision and achieve team goals.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability involving diverse conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing, training, and supervising junior commissioning engineers.
