About the position

The Lead Career Coach for Youth is a pivotal role within Eckerd Connects, focusing on empowering young individuals through career development and workforce innovation. This position is designed for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of youth and is committed to fostering their growth and success. The Lead Career Coach will work closely with program Career Coaches to achieve the goals outlined in the Contract or Statement of Work, ensuring that participants receive the necessary support and guidance to thrive in their career paths. In this role, the Lead Career Coach will engage in outreach and recruitment activities, actively participating in community events that promote participant development. This includes assessing the eligibility of participants according to the project plan and maintaining detailed case records that document service needs and activities. The Lead Career Coach will also deliver essential skills training in software applications, work readiness, and basic remedial skills in math and reading, helping students develop the competencies required for success in the workforce. Additionally, the Lead Career Coach will be responsible for job development, which involves connecting with employers and community organizations to market the program and enhance the success of participants. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and recruiting the target population of clients and employers, as well as managing data and paperwork efficiently. The Lead Career Coach will play a crucial role in delivering program curriculum and objectives in both classroom and simulated workplace environments, ensuring that students are engaged and motivated to meet program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist program Career Coaches in reaching goals established in Contract or Statement of Work.
  • Conduct outreach and recruitment activities in the community relating to participant development.
  • Assess eligibility of participants per project plan.
  • Maintain case records detailing service needs and activities according to data-management procedures.
  • Deliver skills training in software applications, work readiness skills, and basic remedial skills in math and reading.
  • Develop presentation and facilitation skills to engage students in meeting program goals.
  • Deliver program curriculum/objectives in classroom and simulated workplace environments.
  • Connect with employers and community organizations to market and enrich the program and the success of participants.
  • Identify and recruit target population of clients and employers.
  • Manage data and paperwork efficiently.

Requirements

  • Related Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
  • 4+ years of relevant work experience, particularly with the targeted population.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems.
  • Ability to efficiently manage a large participant caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a leadership role with students to motivate and influence positive behaviors.
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance.
