About the position

The Lead Cashier at Ulta Beauty is responsible for ensuring efficient guest transactions and maintaining high standards at the cashwrap area. This role involves training new cashiers, driving loyalty results, and enhancing the guest experience through exceptional service and product recommendations. The Lead Cashier collaborates with the leadership team to support operational tasks and uphold company policies, while also contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store's goals related to retail and service sales, omni-channel, guest loyalty, and retail shrink.
  • Ensure exceptional service by greeting and engaging each guest, personalizing service, and recommending products.
  • Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
  • Book appointments for services and in-store events to enhance guest experience and drive sales.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of cashwrap displays and supplies.
  • Support the leadership team with cashier chat ins and outs, and associate exit inspections.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and products to better serve guests.
  • Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training associates in cashiering.
  • Engage and influence peers to achieve productivity and performance goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including dress code and cash control standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 2 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to delegate, multi-task, and problem-solve.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion for guest service and selling.
  • Experience addressing guest concerns and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Experience in exceeding sales goals and training new hires.
  • Proficient with basic technology, including Point of Sale systems and Apple devices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to react under pressure and be flexible/adaptable.
