About the position

The Lead Cashier at Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas plays a crucial role in assisting the store manager with the efficient operation of the retail store. This position is focused on providing excellent customer service, managing store operations, and supporting the mission of helping individuals overcome challenges and find jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the Mission of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate the Core Four in all interactions: Be Honest, Be on Time, Work Hard and Be Respectful of Others.
  • Follow and complete duties assigned by members of retail management.
  • Smile and greet all customers as they enter the location.
  • Assist the store manager with planning for the best possible merchandising system, including displays and store promotions.
  • Present a friendly, cooperative attitude to the general public at all times.
  • Lead and encourage the store workforce; assist with staff training and assign specific duties in the absence of the manager.
  • Help load and unload store merchandise as needed.
  • Sort donations according to company guidelines.
  • Assist in keeping store stock available.
  • Assist in store security.
  • Notify the Store Manager of low and overstocked items.
  • Call Store Manager for all voids and customer returns.
  • Perform necessary janitorial work.
  • Adhere to all Goodwill policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers.

Requirements

  • Must be able to communicate with the public.
  • Must be honest and dependable.
  • Must have clean clothing and good hygiene.
  • Prefer previous cashiering experience.
