The Lead Caster Operator at Nucor Yamato Steel is responsible for ensuring safety and efficiency in melting and casting operations. This role involves overseeing production processes, managing projects to improve operations, and leading a team in maintenance activities. The position requires a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and effective communication to meet capacity demands and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Create a focus on safety for the entire NYS team.
- Support the direction of melting and casting operations.
- Oversee the production process to ensure capacity demands and quality standards are met.
- Help the casting team develop and manage projects that improve casting operations.
- Lead the team in conducting reactive and preventive maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- 3 years of melting and casting experience.
- Demonstrated leadership presence and courage.
- Strong communication skills to convey information effectively.
- Ability to work as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills regarding production processes.
- General business knowledge and understanding of Nucor's operations.
