About the position
The Lead Caster Operator at Nucor Steel Auburn, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the melting and casting operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in production. The position requires working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet production demands.
Responsibilities
- Create focus on safety for the entire NYS team.
- Support the direction of melting and casting operations.
- Oversee the production process to meet capacity demands and quality standards.
- Help the casting team develop and manage projects to improve casting operations.
- Lead the team in conducting reactive and preventive maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- 3 years of melting and casting experience.
- Strong leadership presence and courage to address critical alignment issues.
- Effective communication skills to ensure understanding among team members.
- Ability to work as part of a coordinated team effort.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills regarding production processes.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
