About the position

As a Lead Civil Designer at Olsson, you will play a crucial role in leading quality assurance and quality control for multidisciplinary design services across various land development projects. This position involves managing project staff, providing senior-level design reviews, and serving as a consultative resource for clients. You will also have the opportunity to travel to job sites and work in diverse terrains and weather conditions, ensuring that projects are executed with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages staff on technical aspects of projects including coordination with all disciplines involved on projects.
• Plans and oversees the quality review process of project deliverables.
• Provides a consultative resource to clients for project resolution.
• Strengthens and further develops subject matter expertise in certain design areas.
• Provides senior-level design review for various projects on the team and acts as a resource for technical issues.
• May assist in the preparation of project studies by completing drawings, sketching, or acquiring data.
• Promotes efficiencies in producing quality work.
• Supervises and reviews assignments of less experienced staff.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team
• Associate Degree in Drafting
• 10 years of CAD software experience (AutoCAD Civil 3D)
• Project Management skills for medium-sized projects.
