About the position

The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and modeling various civil engineering projects, including site grading, stormwater management systems, and infrastructure development. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to meet client objectives and solve engineering challenges, while also providing mentorship to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planning, design, and modeling of site grading and surface preparation.
• Design and manage stormwater management systems.
• Prepare technical documents and engineering design calculations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on projects.
• Work with teams on projects including site development, infrastructure, landfills, and stream restoration.
• Prepare project permitting documents for local, state, and federal permits.
• Perform construction inspection and oversight activities.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and prospective clients.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of civil/environmental design experience.
• Experience with grading and drainage design and stormwater modeling.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control and stormwater permitting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D for developing surface models and earthwork quantities.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of materials of construction and developing construction details.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and a dedication to safety.

Nice-to-haves

• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training is a plus.
