About the position

The Lead Civil Engineer will oversee various civil engineering projects, ensuring successful completion while adhering to quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines. This role involves leading civil engineering design tasks, coordinating with local municipalities and agencies, and engaging with clients to support business growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil engineering design projects including drainage, hydraulic and hydrology, traffic and planning.
• Lead zoning analysis, site planning, stormwater management, utility planning, and transportation design.
• Coordinate and present submissions to local municipalities, utilities, and planning boards.
• Perform site investigations to document existing conditions.
• Complete and review design calculations and assist in preparing drawings and specifications.
• Supervise the development of project plans and coordinate with other design disciplines.
• Provide solutions during the construction administration phase of projects.
• Engage with existing clients and pursue new clients for business growth.
• Lead the preparation of technical content for proposals for engineering services.
• Attend industry and business development functions as a representative of the firm.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop local engineering staff.
• Perform monthly and quarterly updates of project financials and revenue projections.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• 12+ years of progressive experience in Site and Civil Engineering
• NJ PE required
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to provide constructive guidance to engineers and drafters
• Understanding of local code and permitting requirements
• Ability to collaborate with the Regional Manager and other business units
• Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines
• AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
