About the position

The Lead Classification & Compensation Analyst plays a crucial role in the Department of Health and Human Services by overseeing and managing classification and compensation processes. This position is responsible for ensuring that the organization's compensation structures are competitive and equitable, while also providing guidance and support to HR staff and management on classification issues.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the classification and compensation processes for the department.
  • Conduct job evaluations and market analysis to ensure competitive compensation.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR staff and management on classification issues.
  • Develop and implement compensation policies and procedures.
  • Analyze compensation data and prepare reports for management review.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in classification and compensation analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in compensation or human resources (e.g., CCP, PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
