About the position

The Lead Clinician is responsible for coordinating mental health screenings and counseling intervention services for minors in the Unaccompanied Minor's program. This role involves monitoring and documenting the mental well-being of minors, developing service plans, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care. The clinician will also oversee staff clinicians and maintain partnerships with community-based providers, while being available for extended hours and on-call duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical services by providing oversight and training of staff clinicians.
  • Monitor clinical services documentation and develop partnerships with community-based providers.
  • Coordinate intake, admission, and screenings with minors, documenting results according to standards.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members to develop service plans for minors.
  • Ensure all minors receive one-to-one counseling and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Monitor the mental well-being of minors and arrange for appropriate third-party services.
  • Provide consultation and documentation regarding clients' functioning and mental health status.
  • Participate in meetings and quality improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work (MSW) or a related field with clinical training and experience.
  • Licensed to provide clinical services in the relevant state (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPC, Psychologist).
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • Two years of postgraduate direct service delivery experience in clinical interviewing and assessment.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families from high-risk backgrounds.
  • Successful completion of 86 hours of pre-service training and job requirements.
  • Cleared Tuberculosis test and background check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with children and youth in inpatient, residential, or detention settings.
  • Experience working with unaccompanied children.
  • Bilingual abilities in Turkish, Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, French, or Arabic.
