About the position

The Lead Cloud Architect at Lockheed Martin is responsible for overseeing the cloud computing strategy, including the design, management, and monitoring of cloud applications. This role involves ensuring adherence to cloud security principles, developing product strategies using agile processes, and designing robust cloud architectures to handle large data efficiently. The architect will also analyze complex environments, document technical specifications, and enforce design standards while driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the teams cloud computing strategy, including cloud application design, cloud management and monitoring.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to cloud security principles and general enterprise cloud standards.
  • Develop and implement product development strategies using agile development processes to meet business requirements.
  • Design, build, and test cloud architecture to ensure large amounts of data can be transferred and stored efficiently.
  • Analyze complex environments, design and communicate pragmatic architectures.
  • Develop, analyze, document technical specifications, and decide on components and design of software and systems.
  • Define, communicate, and enforce design standards.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and ensure that technical standards and requirements address user needs and constraints.
  • Identify and drive process improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience with Cloud management
  • Experience using major cloud computing services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with tools such as Gitlab, OpenShift, Harbor and Helm
  • A deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, applications, and trends
  • Strong cloud migration and data management skills
  • Proficiency in popular programming languages like Java, Node.js, PHP, Python, and React.js
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles
  • Experience with leading projects and improvements
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with agile methodologies, frameworks, and processes
