About the position

The Lead Cloud Data Engineer Senior is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of complex enterprise-wide technology platforms, focusing on cloud-based data infrastructure. This role involves managing data workflows, supporting analytics, and driving insights to inform strategic business decisions, while leveraging technologies such as AWS, GCP, Snowflake, SQL Server, and Python.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end application system development and maintenance on large complex technology platforms.
  • Maintain active relationships with customers to determine business requirements and lead requirements gathering meetings.
  • Anticipate technical changes and ensure company technology stays ahead of the curve.
  • Prioritize projects and make trade-offs based on broader business needs.
  • Understand the architecture for major business areas and articulate scaling and reliability limits.
  • Own the change request process and coordinate with other teams as necessary.
  • Develop and define application scope and objectives, supervising the preparation of technical specifications.
  • Perform technical design reviews and code reviews, ensuring unit tests and system testing are completed as per plan.
  • Deliver application technology solutions and data information planning efforts.
  • Participate in developing multi-year technology strategies for critical business areas.
  • Create architecture and anticipate future technology needs, leading internal conversations about technology direction.
  • Coordinate and manage on-call support and system monitoring processes.
  • Review and monitor initiatives for end-to-end impact and coordination.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 9 years' experience in multi-dimensional platforms and expert-level experience with business and technical applications.
  • Proficient in data modeling, data structures, databases, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • In-depth understanding of large-scale data sets, both structured and unstructured.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and delivering scalable data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Hands-on experience in the development, deployment, and operation of integration technologies (APIs).
  • Proficiency with data warehouses such as Snowflake, SQL Server, Redshift, or Big Query.

  • Experience mentoring others and driving teams to achieve results.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with DevOps, Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing data tokenization.
