About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Lead Cloud Developer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Phoenix, AZ, and New York, NY. This is a 12+ month contract position. The Lead Cloud Developer will consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering. This role involves consulting on the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale, and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical and inductive thinking. The developer will provide expertise to client senior leadership on innovative Engineering business solutions and strategically engage with client personnel. Additionally, the role includes defining a solution, creating a project plan, and working with the delivery team on nonfunctional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering.
• Consult on the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering long-term, large-scale solutions.
• Provide expertise to client senior leadership on innovative Engineering business solutions.
• Strategically engage with client personnel to understand their needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Define a solution, create a project plan, and work with the delivery team on nonfunctional requirements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 15 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience in driving technical collaboration across multiple teams and organizations.
• Experience building and improving Information Retrieval and Ranking, Machine Learning, and Embedding systems.
• Experience developing and implementing machine learning models using Google Vertex AI and Python in an application of Generative AI.
• Experience in indexing, retrieval, and ranking stacks.
• Understanding of LLM fine-tuning, distillation, data generation, and prompt engineering across a large variety of tasks.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, partnering with groups such as Engineering, Product Management, AI COE, UX, and UI, and brokering trade-offs with stakeholders.
