About the position

The Lead Cloud Engineer at Converse Technology will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. This role focuses on infrastructure as code and ensuring compliance with Nike's policies while collaborating with various teams to enhance cloud operations and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, including VPC setup and WAF configuration.
  • Develop and implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and other tools.
  • Support the implementation and development of new applications and integrations.
  • Implement best in class CI/CD pipelines, leveraging AI and automation across the scope of work.
  • Collaborate with Nike's existing resources to accelerate Converse Cloud journey.
  • Act as the Cloud product owner, build and prioritize backlog, working with stakeholders to identify and prioritize cloud engineering work.
  • Utilize Jira and Agile methodologies to plan, prioritize and execute the work.
  • Lead cloud cost optimization and right sizing efforts, working with stakeholders to identify and prioritize cost-saving opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues across the stack, including network connectivity, storage, and compute resources.
  • Regular audit and report on compliance such as tagging standards across the entire Cloud environment.
  • Partner with the Cyber Security team to identify vulnerabilities and implement timely remediation.
  • Review and configure pipeline standards to ensure policy adherence and uniformity in all instances.
  • Help define and enable standards and best practices for cloud engineering and Dev Ops across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with teams like Architecture and Cyber Security to develop and implement cloud governance, strategy, compliance, and policies.
  • Lead the Cloud Community of Practice, providing guidance, training, and support to cloud engineers across the enterprise.
  • Bring innovation and thought leadership into engineering and technology modernization discussions.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and workload management to other Cloud Engineers at Converse.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training.
  • 6+ years of experience in Cloud engineering, with a focus on AWS and Azure.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure, including VPC setup and WAF configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS services such as IAM, EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, Beanstalk, CloudWatch, etc.
  • Experience delivering cloud solution designs, installation, and configuration using IaC and automation tools, such as Terraform, Rundeck, Jenkins, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and mentor others.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional cloud services and tools beyond AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a technical team.
