About the position

As the Lead Cloud Infrastructure/Security Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our technical infrastructure, database operations, and security/compliance teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our cloud-based platform, which aids vulnerable populations in securing affordable housing, operates seamlessly and securely. You will leverage your extensive experience with Azure Cloud technology to design, implement, and maintain our infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and secure. Your leadership will guide a team of technical specialists, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence. In this position, you will oversee the design and implementation of our Azure Cloud infrastructure, managing various services including computing, storage, networking, and security. You will also be responsible for database administration, ensuring optimal performance and security of our data assets. Your role will involve implementing best practices for security and compliance, protecting our infrastructure and applications from potential threats. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and troubleshoot issues, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends will be crucial, as you will provide recommendations for technology adoption that align with our strategic goals. Your ability to lead and mentor your team will be essential in developing a high-performing group that meets the demands of our growing organization. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Infrastructure/Security team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Azure Cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Manage and optimize Azure services, including computer, storage, networking, and security services.
  • Oversee database administration efforts including database design, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and protocols to protect our infrastructure, data, and applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain operational policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and SOC 2 Controls.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for technology adoption and innovation.
  • Develop, and lead a high-performing team of technical specialists, encouraging collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Manage teams across Azure Infrastructure, Databases and Security departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure/Security/Compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure Infrastructure, Database Administration, and Security.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing principles, architecture, and best practices.
  • Detailed understanding of Cloud-Infrastructure/Networking Concepts and Configurations - VNET, NAT Gateway, Private Endpoints, App Services, Microservices (Function-Apps), APIM, Traffic Manager, Cloudflare WAF.
  • Proficiency in managing Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, VPN, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Security.
  • Expertise in one or more scripting languages such as PowerShell, python etc.
  • Experience working with monitoring tools such as Log Analytics, App Insights, Data Dog.
  • Knowledge of security principles and best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and data protection.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as: Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert preferred.
