About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to oversee lending activities for a wholesale banking business and geographic market. This role involves leading complex initiatives, making decisions in multifaceted situations, and collaborating with peers and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to manage risk and compliance effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex initiatives with broad impact in overseeing lending activities.
• Review and research complex business challenges requiring in-depth evaluation.
• Make decisions in multifaceted situations, understanding policies and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with peers and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
• Lead projects and teams or serve as a peer mentor.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience or equivalent.
• 5+ years of portfolio management and underwriting experience specific to Commercial & Industrial and/or Investor Real Estate credit requests.
• Strong analytical skills for in-depth analysis of commercial financial statements.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel for financial analysis.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience negotiating loan documentation and working with attorneys.
• Strong risk management and compliance skills.
• Previous experience using Blast, CreditView or Ncino.
• BA / BS degree or higher in a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial analysis and projection modeling.
• Ability to present to decision makers and customers confidently.
