As our new Lead Consultant, you will work on complex projects involving the permitting, management, remediation, modification, and closure of industrial waste impoundments, water and tailings dams, and contaminated sites. This role is integral to our Ecology team, where you will contribute to closing the gap to a sustainable future. You will support the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems, including cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, and groundwater management systems for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites. Additionally, you will assess dam safety and management practices, perform construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating, and collaborate with experienced Ramboll engineering and CAD staff to develop engineering drawings, technical specifications, and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) plans. Your responsibilities will also include performing geotechnical calculations such as seepage, slope stability, seismic and liquefaction assessments, and settlement analyses. You will write reports, technical memoranda, and other documents for review by experienced Ramboll staff, acting as the Technical Task Manager by independently leading tasks within a larger project team under the direction of the Ramboll project manager. Leading field investigation programs, including borings, sampling, and laboratory testing, will also be part of your role, along with implementing Ramboll's safety and quality management systems and providing construction oversight and/or management services. This position requires 10-20% travel, and you will be part of our Environment and Health group supporting CCR, mining, and environmental remediation projects, working from our St. Louis, Kansas City, Missouri, or Chicago, Illinois office in a hybrid capacity.
