About the position

The Lead Content Editor, Podcast Video position at Focus on the Family is responsible for creating, editing, and facilitating the production of digital video content derived from podcasts. This role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure compelling storytelling and effective communication that aligns with the organization's content strategy and marketing goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital media, audio/video production, and a passion for impacting lives globally through storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creation, production, and publishing of video content derived from podcasts for digital, website, and social media distribution.
  • Coordinate with Show Producers, Social Media team, and Content Producers to maximize collaborative efforts and create cohesive content variations across digital channels.
  • Establish, implement, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for digital content.
  • Coordinate with Marketing and other departments to promote shows and resources, maximizing digital impact.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partnering divisions to ensure productive engagement for successful project completion.
  • Manage the execution of multiple simultaneous projects, maintaining comprehensive documentation of work and metrics.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure all video content meets brand standards and technical specifications.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in video production and digital content distribution.
  • Develop and manage a content calendar that aligns video content with podcast episodes and promotional materials.
  • Analyze performance data and viewer feedback to continuously improve video content strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, or Journalism (or related field).
  • 5-7 years of experience writing and creating audio and video for digital platforms.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Proficiency with WordPress and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Demonstrated success in broadcast, digital, and social media.
  • Ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with video production tools and software.
  • Knowledge of current media and social media trends.
  • Experience in a Christian ministry or non-profit environment.
